Hello, my name is Alan, and I would like to welcome you to my Outside Broadcast Unit Gallery. This might seem like a strange subject to take photographs of, especially as most of my other galleries are all transport related, but as a long time radio enthusiast and Radio Amateur, as well as a Transport photographer, the two hobbies do cross paths occasionally, and I thought it worth including these pictures here as well.
I would like to point out that I don't go around stalking news crews or doing anything strange like that, but I do frequently run into them whilst out photographing buses and trains etc. or whilst at Air Shows, and I never miss the chance to add a few more shots to my collection. A good example was the recent Rossendale Transport Open Day in 2007, when not only were all the buses lined up outside the East Lancashire Railway Station at Rawtenstall, but BBC Radio Lancashire were also there broadcasting the event live on air. OB Units, Buses and Steam Trains all on one site at the same time - sheer heaven!:-)
I am also interested in photographing many other modes of transport, as well as many other subjects, so do pay a visit to my Railway, Bus, Aviation, Maritime, Tram & LRT, Emergency Vehicle (Police, Fire, Ambulance etc.), Construction (Wind Farms, Building sites, major Civil Engineering Projects etc.), and Heritage (everything else) Galleries if you are also interested in any of these subjects.
